8 week intermediate Throwing course

This course has been developed by Mieke & Charlie De Deyne and has been taught by Charlie for the last few years. Claudia will be taking over the course whilst Charlie is on maternity leave.

This 8 week course will explore the many varied techniques of using the pottery wheel. This course will commence with the basics to gauge students skill level of throwing and immediately advance into alternate techniques of using the wheel. Not only will students learn to make new complex forms, but delve into advanced surface decoration, coloured clay, throwing off the hump and so much more!

This course is jam packed with new skills to learn on the wheel. Within the 8 weeks, students will create, glaze and finish many unique and varies pieces of work to take home and treasure.

Please note;

This course is not for beginners. It is designed to be a more intermediate course to push throwers in their practice. It is expected that students can comfortably throw a small straight cylinder to begin this course. If you are a beginner, please see the 6 Week Beginner Throwing Course.

Price - $640   Includes all material, firing and glazing. (exclusive to courses)

Class time - Monday evenings 6pm - 9pm in Newstead Studio

Duration - 8 Consecutive weeks.

If you are booking into this course you are committing to be able to attend for the duration of the course. We are unable to offer make up classes in our courses. If you are unable to attend a class for any reason, this is not the responsibility of the studio.

Unfortunately, due to Workplace Health and Safety Regulations our studio is a strictly ADULTS ONLY workplace. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Cancellation Policy: We have a strict 48 hour cancellation policy on all courses. These courses can book out weeks in advance, so to ensure a fair booking system we ask for more than 48 hours notice so we can offer the seat to another student.

If cancelled before 48 hours the course will be credited back onto your account to book in another time.
